Just a wee note to say that the above was a most enjoyable read. That rare combination of an engaging and flowing style telling the at times very complicated story of island history.

You should be well proud of this work.

If only more of the railway histories I read had such an erudite yet light touch style. So many are like “wading through treacle!”
